Ongoing Journey of Faith

Dearly beloved parishioners of St. Joseph Calasanctius parish

It has been over two weeks that all the priests in the Diocese of Prince Albert could not celebrate the Holy Eucharist with their faithful parishioners on weekdays , especially  on Sunday mass. It was indeed an agony for them and for myself as well.

Yet I have celebrated private mass without a congregation in the Church.

Please be assured that on Sundays , according to the Canon Law, a priest must celebrate mass to pray for the parishioners (pro populo).

As Bishop Albert had instructed to the whole diocese, people can come to the church at the fixed times 10 am to 12 pm on weekdays. Henceforth, our parish continues to follow this instruction by having the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on the Altar.

There were ten people coming regularly to the Church to adore, to recite the Hoy Rosary and the Divine Chaplet, including the Station of the Cross on Friday. We can see a continuous journey of faith in them, representing the whole parish in this time of isolating.

I am moved and so touched by the tremendous faith that they have shown in the Church by having two hour adoration, praying in front of the Blessed Sacrament.

I strongly believe that ours was a common prayer imploring an end to the pandemic of the Covid-19 virus.

May the compassionate God continue to keep our parishioners away from sickness, especially from this terrible Virus.

May Jesus, the Divine Healer, touch and heal the world.

May the Virgin Mother guide us on this journey and obtain for us from her divine Son the grace to be able to use our life for love of Jesus at the service of brothers.

Remember you all in my daily private mass and prayers. Let us pray for one another.

Merry Christmas 2019

Christmas 2019   For a child has been born to us!”

Tonight, we solemnly  celebrate the Feast of the Birth of Jesus whom the Angel at the first Christmas in

Bethlehem announced as the Savior (Luke 2:11) and Isaiah, centuries earlier had forseen as a Redeemer (Is 52:9)

Tonight we receive God’s promise: the Lord’s Birth. The Heavenly Father

has given us His own Son: for this indescribable gift we are filled with joy.

The Son of God, conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit in the womb

of the Immaculate Virgin Mary and born in the stable at Bethlehem chose to enter

the world within a family – the Holy Family of Nazareth.

Yet, the Savior of the world has come down from Heaven. Let us rejoice.

This proclamation, filled with deep rejoicing, echoed in the night of Bethlehem.

Tonight, the Church renews it with unchanged Joy: the Savior is born for us.

As this holy night comes, the message of Jesus, the Savior, who is Light echoes

once more from the crib of Bethlehem in the ears of each Christian, and

re-echoes in our hearts with an ever new freshness of Joy and Piety

God of Peace, Gift of Peace, come to live in the heart of every

Individual and of every family of St. Joseph Calasanctius parish.

May the Joy of Christmas and this Holy night and the peace which the

Birth of the Savior brings into the world be in your hearts forever.

Merry Christmas!  May God the Savior shower His abundant blessing upon you

and your families. Have a blessed Christmas, and a prosperous New Year!
